Pastor

As a spiritual leader, a pastor delivers the word of God and interprets scripture for a congregation. They are the spiritual and theological leaders/teachers of the body of Christ.  Pastors may also develop budgets and work with worship directors to bring music and other programs into weekly services. They counsel church members through difficult circumstances and supervise special religious events.  

Youth Minister

Youth ministers help the young adults at a church develop spiritually. They must have a firm understanding of biblical teachings, church doctrine, and current trends in youth culture. Knowing how to communicate with teens is critical to being a good youth minister. This position may also require leading mission trips to other states or countries.  

Director of Religious Activities and Education  

These directors develop outreach programs to encourage churches or denominations to participate in religious activities and education. They may also counsel churchgoers on finances, health, marriage, and other topics from a spiritual perspective. In some cases, directors train church or religious school employees in social services skills and provide educational materials to members of the community.  
 

Religion and Philosophy Teachers

These instructors educate students on the topics of religion, philosophy, and theology. They facilitate classroom conversations about contemporary religious ideologies and philosophical perspectives. They may also spend time researching or attending professional conferences.  

Religious Non-Profit Leaders

The growing needs of society and the world have created space for trained ministry leaders to lead ministries of non-profit services.  These leaders use scriptural directives, spiritual formation skills, organizational abilities, and Christian character to shape and lead ministry to people in crises of various types.
